Sometimes, escaping the chill of Minneapolis, Minnesota is a MUST for technology businessman Dan Fitzgibbons. The beautiful beaches and waters of Cozumel often calls his name -- and that of his family, too, including wife, Paige, and children Jack and Grace. There, in this exotic yet adventure-rich location, Fitzgibbons can explore the ocean with a variety of water activities that are family-friendly or extreme, such as scuba diving, submarines, snorkeling, deep-water fishing and more. Inland excitement also awaits, including motocross, zip lines or hiking the lands. But the underwater exploration is what attracts most adventurers, including the Fitzgibbons family -- drawing them away from the cold midwest and to the sunny lands of Cozumel.

For Dan Fitzgibbons, Minnesota is a very important place, primarily because it is where he lives with his wife and two children. This is not a surprise; family and community have always been priorities in his life, ever since he grew up as the youngest of five kids in Fargo, North Dakota. While he was growing up, he attended Holy Spirit Grade School and Shanley High, where he was active with a key club and the Sandpebbles, which was a high school singing group. singing group and a key club at the same time he played sports. However, soon after he began his college education at North Dakota State, he transferred just over the state line to Minnesota’s Moorhead State University to finish earning his Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing and Business Administration. That is when Minnesota became so important to him.

These days, Dan Fitzgibbons is Minnesota Data Protection Business Manager for EMC Corporation, an international technology company. Minneapolis is where he lives. It is his community and he likes to give back, so he does a lot of charity work. One example is the work he does with Loaves and Fishes, a program that serves many thousands of nutritious, hot meals to the poor every year and Allan Law’s 363 Days Food Program, which distributes nutritious sandwiches to the hungry and homeless by the thousands every year.
